Last month I provided some free public relations support to Us In A Bus after one of their vans was stolen and destroyed by vandals. As the charity operates within a relatively small area, my focus was on local and regional publications. The aim was to raise awareness of what had happened and direct people to their crowdfunder. Thanks to this approach, the appeal raised enough to not only replace the van but fund its running costs for a year. /
We deliver 64 sessions to over 200 people in their homes or Care homes across Surrey. We have 4 Vans which our staff use daily to get to and from each session. In October 2019 one of these vans was stolen, it was later found stripped of everything and burnt out. Due to our reliance on this van we started a Crowd funder campaign which we hoped we would be able to raise enough to replace it.
With Rich’s help we had multiple interviews with local and regional press outlets increasing awareness of what had happened to us, which lead to us not only raising enough to buy a new van but also funds to be able to run it for a year. _________________________ Victoria Goody, Us In A Bus /
